Our Story

A House on the Hill

Little Friday Farm was established by husband and wife team Casey and Brandtly Spangler. They moved to the beautiful mountains of East Tennessee in 2016. After a year of searching, they finally found a house on a hill overlooking 25-acres of mostly pastureland. They were married on the edge of that hill in 2017. As soon as they got back from their honeymoon, they purchased a dozen chickens and Brandtly built the chickens their own tiny home in the yard and so began their farm life.

They knew from the beginning they wanted to become self-sustainable and eventually become a “real” farm. They soon found out, however, that the lifestyle they dreamed of would come with a lot of hard work and dedication. With flower and cattle-farming neighbors and mentors, they embarked on their mission. They finally got up the nerve to apply to become that “real” farm during the COVID19 pandemic of 2020.

The Spangler family was also blessed with two very special new members. Our son, Lincoln, joined the farm family in February 2021 and our daughter, Laney, was born in October 2022. Farm efforts had been briefly placed on hold to raise "two under two" but we're now ready to embark on our dream as a wild & crazy family of 4!
